Although Hot Watt Solar is a distributor of these items in both rural and urban areas, the primary installation area for most of our clients is low wind, urban areas. Since a large portion of this area is suburbia, we have opted to present you with the vertical axis wind turbines because they take up much less space, will operate at low wind speeds and work extremely well in turbulent wind areas.

The Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) converts wind energy to electrical power. The VAWT is an omni-directional low wind-speed generator that may be easily installed practically anywhere with good wind exposure. The VAWT is seen as a solid object as the rotational speed increases, making it visible to birds. We offer only the most durable and efficient VAWTs available.

Ropatec manufactures 1kw, 3kw, 6kw and 20kw turbines as well as the Blue Terra Public Image Turbine below. This turbine represents a simple way to eco-market your business and get some well deserved attention for supplying your own power.

Mariah Power manufactures the ultra-efficient 1.2kw Windspire. The Windspire has a cut-in speed of only 3mph and generation starts at 6-7mph, shown on the right. The Windterra ECO1200 is an easily roof-mount residential VAWT capable of producing 1kw of power.
